The service

Surferswind is an AI-assisted wind forecast service for kiteboarding, windsurfing, and wingfoiling. We show forecasts for curated surf spots, a personal digest for the spots you track, and a chat assistant that answers questions about your forecast.

Forecasts are advice, not safety guidance

Surferswind forecast text is session advice for windsports. It is not safety-critical guidance and not a substitute for professional meteorological services, official warnings, local rules, or your own judgment on the water. Conditions change; always check the situation yourself before going out.

The service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee that forecasts are accurate, complete, or continuously available, and we are not liable for decisions you make based on them.

AI-generated content

Parts of Surferswind are generated by a large language model (Google Gemini). Questions you type into the chat are sent to Google to produce a reply. AI output can be wrong or incomplete, so treat it as a starting point rather than a fact.

You can report any generated answer from inside the app. We review reported answers and use them to adjust our prompts and safeguards. Do not use the chat to try to generate illegal, hateful, harassing, or otherwise harmful content; we may suspend accounts that do.

Your account

You need a verified email address to use the personal features. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from the app settings or via the account deletion page, which removes your preferences, tracked spots, push tokens, and digests.

Surferswind Pro subscription

• Surferswind Pro is an auto-renewing monthly subscription that unlocks daily digests, more tracked spots, a longer forecast horizon, and a higher chat quota.
• In the mobile apps, Pro is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The exact price and billing period are shown in the app and in the store payment sheet before you confirm.
• The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
• Cancel at any time in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings. Pro stays active until the end of the period you already paid for, then the account returns to Free.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us. Deleting your Surferswind account does not cancel a store subscription — cancel it in the store as well.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• Scrape, resell, or redistribute forecast data or spot data in bulk.
• Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Use the service in a way that breaks applicable law.

Third-party data

Wind data comes from KNMI via Open-Meteo, spot data partly from OpenStreetMap, and map tiles from CARTO. Their terms and attribution apply alongside these terms. Details on what we process are in the privacy policy.
